Basement Wine Cellar Design Ideas for Vancouver Homes: Which One Suits Your Style?

The left and right walls have the same bottle configurations, including X bins at the bottom section and individual wine racks with a rectangular display shelf. An angled display row runs the middle section of the walls. The wall panels are also made from beeswax Walnut.

Wine Cellar Door

The door has a significant impact on the overall appearance of wine cellars. In this project, we installed a glass door framed in Walnut to complement the traditional theme of the wine room. We insulated the glass panel to prevent condensation build-up that can harm the wines.

Basement Home Wine Cellar Lighting with Modern Wine Racks and Impressive Lighting System

Another project our team completed in Vancouver was constructing a modern wine display area in the bar and entertainment area of the client’s basement. We create a sophisticated home wine cellar design for 144 bottles. The features will entice you to build your own wine display.

Modern Wine Racks: Impressive Design for a Basement Wine Cellar

The tiled flooring with pebble trough is one of the striking features of the residential wine cellar. We mounted the metal column wine racks to the tiles on the wall. We set them one foot apart from each other.

The wine racks are double deep to maximize the storage capacity of the wine room.  They display the bottles horizontally, showing the labels out. This wine storage system can be customized, offering design flexibility. You may choose a label forward or neck forward bottle orientation, and for the vertical rails, you may opt for wall-mount racks (like in this wine cellar) or suspended floor-to-ceiling that comes with top and bottom mounting brackets.

Wine Cellar Lighting System and Door

The lighting system plays a vital role in achieving the overall look and mood in your wine cellar.  In this project, we installed lights above the wine racks. The light diffuses evenly, highlighting the bottles cradles in dark-stained racking.  Each column racking is powered by a dimmable transformer so the owner can adjust the brightness of the wine room.

MP lighting supplied the lighting system for this project. It is known for its specification-grade architectural LED fixtures and has gained a good reputation as a provider of high-quality lighting systems for wine cellars.

The wine cellar door is made of frameless glass to provide an excellent view of the client’s wine collection from outside the wine room. We used black hardware to match the dark wine racks.
